File Conversion

Please help!

I have just completed a download from Kazaa. The file extension was AVI but on completion it is now a DAT file. I want to turn it into a SVCD but have no idea how to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm not very technical...

actaully guys, most likely what happen is that they renamed the extension to .DAT to mask the file or other security reasons. try renaming it to .AVI or .MPEG. i beleive though that SVCD is an mpeg layer 2 though. SVCD and VCD standard does not recognize AVI.

open it in your media player and check its file properties tab to see what file type is truely is.
