echoed sound on abit nf7_s

hi can anyone please help me ,i just built a system for a freind using th abit nf7 motherboard but theres a problem with the sound its all echoey and we cant seem to correct the problem its the same on speakers or headphones ,i even tried a different monitor no change it has windows xp pro and ive just put the latest windows xp drivers on but still the same could it be a problem with the mb

Have you checked your speakers? Sounds like a bad speaker or something...

its not speakers its somthing to do with mb we tried different speakers its still the same

go into the control panel for the sound card and chage the effects setting

Try this: Right click on the Sound thing on the taskbar, and select "Open volume controls." when the window pops up, click on the Advanced button. when the Advanced window pops up, uncheck anything that says surround or 3D-1, and see if that fixes the problem.
