Earphones

When I am playing music or watching a video sound comes through my earphones, which i want, as soon as i plug in my ipod to the laptop the sound starts coming out of the laptop speakers instead of the earphones and i don't know what the problem is. If the ipod is plugged in before i switch the laptop on then the sound comes through the earphones no problem.

This has happened before but eventually sorted itself but it doesn't seem to be doing it this time.

By plugging in your ipod I assume you mean connecting it with the usb cable?

I've now found that anything connected to the computer via usb causes the sound to cut from the earphones to the laptop speakers.
