DVD problem

Hello folks.

I can no longer play DVD's on myn system anymore ! My Cyberlink PowerDVD no longer works. I had previously upgraded from ME to XP Pro.

But i can no longer play a DVD in my ATI player either now. I will get the message

The DVD navigator was not detected. If you don't have one installed, you will need to upgrade your system. Otherwise, try to reinstall your DVD Navigator.

or i may get

The specified decoder could not be initialized.

Anyone have any ideas ?

I was thinking of buying a new DVD player (this time a burner) if i was to purchase an OEM would i still have the same problems, or would i be wise to purchase one with software etc.

uninstall your dvd software/drivers and reinstall from scratch. It solved a similar problem on my computer
