dvd decoder needed for powerDVD help!

i need to be able to play dvds but it comes up with an error message that i need to get a decoder installed. i went to windows help and the cyberlink website but no progress.
please help!

PowerDVD is a DVD decoder. Seems like something has gone awry with your installation. Is this an OEM version of it? Do you have the CD to reinstall it? If so, try that.

Cyberlink support is very good and responsive. You could contact them, if you're a licensed user.

I have the same problem, The power dvd software my computer came with is corrupted somehow now and I cant get it to work. Going to their site is worthless and patches didn't help.

I just found the ati dvd decoder and that solved my problem. Although you have to have a ati card and the original install/drivers cd.

I imagine other makers have the same support for dvds, you just might have to look for it.

Just search for it.
