DVD burning issue

I have burnt an avi to dvd using both Convertx and Nerovision, and both discs have faults playing back on PC:
1. Convertx: didn't play on WMP or AVSDVD player
2. Nervision: played in WMP without sound, didn't play in AVSDVD

I have latest K-Lite codec pack.
It was only afterwards I discovered that both discs played successfully, with sound, on my DVD player, can anyone explain?

Try it on a different machine and see if you get the same results.
On Microsoft's website they offer a codec pack. I suggest grabbing that one instead of k-lites
