DVD audio problems

ok i'll make this quick

i have a DVD RW and a DVD Rom in a pc and when i play some dvd's on them (watching them) there is no sound but on other dvd's there are

the dvd rw has a audio in wire connected to the mobo where the rom dosen't but it makes no difference it works on some but not others

Do you have something like the Vista Codec pack or KLite installed?

no i have not got either

i've tryed windows media and quicktime player with both of these

the dvd programs i have installed are divX, dvd shrink, nero and Anydvd if that helps

Not a problem. Codec is a very common problem for DVD Playback.

You need to install a codec pack. The audio wire is a legacy thing for the drive.

yeah i didn't have the wire on when i replaced it a few weeks ago (got it as a oem) and i started getting sound issues and rembered it didn't come with one so i got one today and put that it

now i installed KLite and it worked so its all good
