Duel Monitor Sound Output

I'm wondering if their is a solution to this:

I have a duel screen set up using my laptop and a separate monitor (ran via VGA).

The monitor does not have speakers, but does that mean the monitor isn't able to receive sound from, let's say, websites? Is their a way to make the sound just go to my laptop so I can use my headphones to hear it?

when you connect laptop via VGA to seperate monitor, it will transmit only video not sound. So you will be getting the sound in laptop, isn't it?
