Look for a virtual surrond, 3d or phantom setting . set your speaker to 2.1.

when you set it to 5.1 you 2 main channel won't play the right info

you really need 5.1 speakers to get the effect

Before I go for a 5.1 set, are you sure that I don't need a special DVD drive? I was explained by someone that in order to get DD/DTS sound out of a home theatre system both the DVD player and the receiver must be DD/DTS capable. Shouldn't this be true for computer as well?

no. just trust me on this. your software must decode the DTS or DD. Power dvd can.

your software is like the receiver. that why they made 5.1 for the computer. so they can play DD or DTS

Do I need to manually adjust settings such as the LFE? Or is the DD/DTS signal automatically adjusted for things like that?
