Converting DVDs From NTSC to PAL

I just got my old man copy of NEVER CRY WOLF for his birthday. The problem is that it not avalable in Australia (Region 4). However it is avalable in region one.

My parents DVD player is an old one that plays only REGION 4 DVDs.
And my partents TV only plays NTSC DVD Signals in GreyScale.

Any suggestions or How To Website on converting this DVD from Region 1 to Region 4

Even better yet see if there is a hack for the dvd player to make it region free,I done it with an old Norcent and i even had a hard drive in it till i fried it Just use your google-fu and you might come up with something

I was thinking that too. But the problem is that it still means what ever shows up on my parents TV shows up as black and white.

I have put my reigon free dvd player too it (and a few others) and anything NTSC is black and white.

Are you sure your DVD player doesn't support NTSC?
Well, you can rip the DVD to DVD, VCD or SVCD with AVI2DVD and select the "NTSC to PAL" option. It didn't work for me, got an error while converting, but maybe it will for you. I tried it with an AVI file, btw.
