convert line in to line out?

hi,

i was wondering whether there is any way (software or otherwise) to convert my line/microphone in on my laptop(compaq armada e500 800mhz) to a second line out so that i could for example send the left channel to one and then the right channel to the other?

i think its an ess maestro chip. whatever it is its cheap ass piece of crap....

i also need to explore this because the line out connection has become slightly damaged and often causes cracking if the cable is moved even a little....

No that's not a possibilty .. u cannot do that using any software ..

the ess is an old chipset which doesn't support any such operations
