Hello guys, im new to this forum and I find it really helpfull

I have the following dilema..

I have an Xbox 360 and a set of Logitech z506 speakers..

the speakers are made for computer audio cards, and the xbox only has hdmi and spdif audio out connections.

i want to get true 5.1 sorround sound out of the logitech speakers and if the connect them xbox-hdmi-tv-rca-logitech speakers I only get Stereo Sound...

Sho here is what im planning to do but i need to know if its possible..

Im want to buy this external audio card Multimedia | 7.1 Channel USB Audio Box

Use toslink to connect from the spdif in my xbox 360 , to the external Audio card and then connect the z506 speakers to the Audio card..

Will this work to get 5.1 sorround sound?

I would connect the external audio card to the usb slot in my xbox, just to get ac power...

what do you guys think? Do external audio card require a pc to work? or can they just be a link between the xbox and the speakers?

By the way this card is really inexpensive thats why im considering it for my experiment

thanks for any advice!! Im really troubled here since im no expert in sound cards or such...
