Connecting Computer to CRT TV

Hey all. Im *still* in the process of building my HTPC and eventually it will be connected to the TV by S-Video. Now i have read that having the computer with the wrong refresh rates/resolutions with screw up the tv, is this true?

Also, what are the best settings to get good quality picture?

Well, I believe CRT TVs are 640x480 res. So, you're going to be using really low video settings. I'm not sure what the refresh rate is - I believe around 60Hz??
