Computer Speaker Problem

Just wondering if someone has a solution to this problem. I have a Logitech Z-5300 5.1 Speaker System hooked up to my AC 97 onboard sound. For some reason when I turn up the bass and volume to about halfway the system screws up (halfway is pretty loud). The computer, monitor and speakers are hooked into the same powerbar (so that could be the problem). Now when I say the computer screws up it goes into what looks like a standby mode that cannot be put back into "active" mode. I do not believe that this is a heat problem with either the computer or the amplifier on the sub.

It seems weird to me because the breaker is not blowing and there is still power supplied to the monitor, speakers and computer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
