OK it seems that I have a problem with... something...
I noticed it a while ago while I had my headphones on that the right channel was buzzing. Tested it on the speakers as well and I still hear the buzz. Is there a hardware or software problem and what would the solution be?

I have Audio Controller VIA 3059 and ALC655 codec.
It's on-board sound card and I wouldn't want to buy another one. -.-

it's most likely there because of the onboard....mine does it, and it's caused when a cd-rom spins up...or the CPU is loaded down...it has somthing to do with it being connected to the mobo

Yeah thanks.. I thought it was something else than the sound card, but I can't figure out what exactly.
The tray is empty now and I can still hear it a bit.

So anyway it's still "buzzing".. what shall I do? -.-

if i were you, i would install a PCI sound card..the sound will be much better

+1

To try an alternative to buying a soundcard (my suggestion...$20 will get you something better than your onboard), try going into the volume control panel and muting CD Audio. Most of the time, CD Audio only causes interference with all electronic movements that happen in your computer. Anything that moves, reads or writes will make a buzz, click, hiss or something. Why? I don't know and i dont care...

bottom line... get a soundcard soon.
