car speakers

can i hook up car subwoofers/speakers into my home sound system??
and is a non powered subwoofer with an amplifier about the same as a powered 1 or is powered better

so that if i play a movie the sound comes out of the car speakers???
im looking to buy a reciever soo any reciever that can do this would be nice

I think you would be better off going out and buying a decent pair of home speaker's,Most car speaker's run at 4 ohm's and a home stereo run's usaully at 8 ohm's per channel,Running the car speaker's can sometime's burn out the channel's in the home stereo,I've learned this lesson the hard way

yea but i can usually get car subwoofer for twice the power for about the same cost i think
im not sure if these 2 are alike in all aspects so tell me

They don't tell you the ohm's that they run at so i can't really tell,if i were you i would go and talk to somebody at a stereo shop and they could help you out alot better,But just look at the spec's of the stereo you want and it should say what ohm's you can run for the speaker's.

Are you doing a surround system? If you are it would probably be better to get a whole set.
