Cannot hear audio through any browser

I can hear audio when I play video/music clips from my hard drive. But can hear nothing on any website...YouTube or MySpace for example.

Do you think this is a codec thing?

I've checked all of my regular settings (nothing is changed or muted that I can see). Also, the browsers Multimedia section is configured properly.

If it's codecs, are they listed somewhere to see what I have installed? If so, which ones are needed to hear audio from the Interenet?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't that be a flash problem since that's what youtube use, not sure about myspace.

yes it is a codec issue.
