Can a wireless IP cam be used as a wireless webcam

I'm wondering if a wireless ip camera can be used as a wireless webcam to work with windows live messenger (msn) skype, yahoo etc for video chatting with contacts like a normal usb wired webcam?

I'm hoping so as I hate been tied down with usb cables, a wireless ip cam of at least 640x480 30 fps would be ideal if they can be used for voip sessions.

On paper yes. The probelm however would be getting your IM client to detect cameras on the network.
Best thing to do would be to connect and see if it appears in the camera select list on your client.
