Im not sure if its just my burner or what but i remember when i first got it i bought some cd-r's to copy to etc but it wouldnt work so i took them back to the shop and got a different brand and they worked, dont all makes work then? as i think ive bought 3 different makes until i found some that work so ive been using philips cd-rw ones as those are the only ones i could find that worked.

Im not bothered as the philips one do the job but i just wondered why all brands dont work?

Because some CD brands are better then others.

I use Fujifilm CDs and Imation DVDs for my burning. they work great.

Yes, some cd brand are better than others, but I doubt that's really your problem. I've used all sorts of cheapo cd-r's over the years and never had a problem. What's more likely causing your problem is that your cd-rw drive is picky and only works with certain media. That's a somewhat common problem. Usually, truly crappy media will only result in lots of failed burning attempts or corrupt data. Combine a picky drive and poor media though, and your chances for failure are just that much higher.
