depending on your DVD player. DVD-R are compatible with a larger number of players. If your DVD-ROM is an older model, go with the -R. Note that with some DVD players, DVD+R will cause overheating (not all of them but I've seen it on a few players).
DVD-R will burn slower than +R so if time is of the essence for you...
