Remove one of the programs you use the least, and try again, the two may be argueing over the sound.

I removed and reinstalled Windows Media Player but that didn't work. I don't really care about what media player I hear my music from though. I just want to be able to hear the in-game sounds of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory , and have people be able to listen to me on Ventrilo. ( Ventrilo is a program where people can talk to each other through mics over the internet.)
