I was looking around at some of the mics I was interesting in getting, and came across this:

Really nice mic with a USB device that powers the mic with phantom power. Now I have no experience myself with this adapter, so if it's terrible, seriously someone tell me.

But that would cover power and connecting to your machine.

Well, if there (Shure) headphones are anything to go by - their Microphones should be pretty world class relative to other commonly commercially available microphones

I have no reason to doubt that will be a decent kit.
