What music media (i.e. vinyl, casette, CD) has the best quality music? I have an album by The Who on my computer, and the songs are 320kbps mp3 files, but i still don't think the songs sound as good as they could. Someone suggested FLAC, but i dont know if i can find the album in that format anywhere.

Probably vinyl - my grandfather's classical stuff on vinyl is much better quality over a 2.1 setup than the MP3 equivalent played over 5.1 surround.

As for file format, I'm not sure which is highest quality but I tend to go for OGG.

some say vinyl some say CD/SACD/HDCD.

Raw uncompressed file formats are the way to go, or lossless like FLAC.

Vinyl sounds different to 1's and 0's

You cant get much better then lossless imho. In the end, after paying all that money to get all that stuff, the placebo effect will get ya!

^_^

Just stick with a CD or FLAC audio. (or w/e you can find uncompressed)
