The end user may not have that capability though. Only if it was that simple. Good website design caters to all and not some specific format. This is similar to the idea of websites created that only work with Internet Explorer, or is that okay too?
The original poster did not mention what he had planned though. If this was a site for selling CDs and the plan was to have audio samples, then yes -- a compressed format like mp3 or ogg labeled as such would make sense.
