annoying little sound

I have Logitech's X-230 2.1 speakers and just today this really annoying popping sound is comming from my left speaker. This isn't the first time but the last time it happened it must have lasted for about a week and I didn't even notice when it went away. The sound seems to be able to be controlled through the volume knob so, when its turned low, you won't hear it. I would just to know if anyone has a possoble explannation to this.

from what you say it sounds like either near the sub or one of the speakers you have a Cell phone laying close by or a magnet of some sorts. it sounds like an interferance sound.

defective sub i would say. i have one. when u turn it up it gets a little annoing sounding.
