Acer sound

I have an acer laptop 5672 wlmi with dual processor and all that stuff that is supposed to work wonders.

well its been a nightmare as far as sound is concerned. I feel that the laptop's speakers dont work and here is why

-when i plug in my external speakers the sound is fine
-the sound is also fine with headphones

but the minute i remove those, the laptop itself has sound slowing down to almost nothing.

is it possible that the internal speakers are a prob? can they be replaced or am i totally not understanding this

Do you mean the laptop speakers are quiet?
