2 input - Headphones

Good Morning.
by Job means I have to have a 2-way radio on me at all times, the radio takes a normal headphone connected; The radio system is hardly ever used, I have been there over 3 years and have only had one call to myself. I have checked with my Boss and he says I have to have the earpiece in at all times on the off chance that I get a call.
So what I am looking for is a Headphone Connector that allows for 2 inputs and cuts out when the master input receives a signal.
So I can plug my mp3 player headphones into one side and the other side into my Radio and have the MP3 player cut out when ever there is traffic on the radio. (my boss has ok'd this, as I will still be able to hear all traffic).
If not I am going to have to build my own.
Does anyone know of such a connector.

The only safe way to do that would be to use a mixer, which requires power, which in turn is probably not ideal for your needs (mobility).

A simply Y-splitter (2 male to 1 female) might work, but it might also zap your outputs.
