AG-DVX100P firewire port not working

Hi I just got a AG-DVX100P and the Firewire 400 4-pin doesn't work. The built in screen's ribbon cable was cut by accident. Would that case the Firewire not to work? Please help.

Are you plugging it into a computer? oh, and do you mean DVX100B?
