Default ? about water blocks

which water block should i get for i7 920?
do i need 2 cool other things on the motherboard>??
using EVGA E758
im already getting gpu cooler from EK

Motherboard cooling isn't really necessary in most cases... You should be fine with just cooling the CPU.

I would go for the Swiftech Apogee XT, best block on the market atm

what size fittings / hose should i get?? is it ok to use all different brand of parts for my water cooled setup?

Yeah brand doesn't matter.

I would go with 1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing with 1/2" fittings

Or some people like to get 7/16" ID 5/8" OD tubing with 1/2" fittings because it creates a "better seal" but it really doesnt matter if you use clamps (which you should always use)
