900HD Turn off when A/C adapter plugged in?

I have an Asus EEE PC 900HD.Whenever I plug in the battery charger, it shuts off about 3-5 seconds later. It doesn't charge the battery either, just shuts off the netboo It's as if the battery just died, and the A/C adapter isn't plugged in. I can use the netbook with just the battery fine, but with the charger it always shuts off. The charger is giving good voltage, with no spikes or anything. I can turn on the netbook with just the adapter plugged in and no battery, and I can see the splash screen for a few seconds then it shuts down.

Whenever I pull the adapter, I have to pull the main battery out too, just to get it to turn back on.

Sounds like you might have a short somewhere. Probably around the power plug on the chassis.

Could be your PSU that's shot. If you're good with a solder gun, replace that.

I have no clue what you're referring to? I'm going to assume it's the power jack where the A/C adapter plugs in? Which I believe is what S0UL was referring to. If so, I don't think it's that, 'cause I'm getting good power signals from the solder points. I'll check into it more though.
