Where can i get a reasonably priced version? (I do not want a pirated version.) Also, how much is reasonable?
Most VB books come with a working model edition, which lets you do pretty much everything except make a project into an .exe. For learning, the working model editions should be fine. If you're going to need to make exe's, there might be reduced price academic versions available.

I feel Visual Basic is the easiest to start with. That is the language I started with. C/C++/Java are a little tougher.

Once you start with Visual Basic and get the feel for object-oriented programming you can cross over to other languages.
