PHP or ASP?

i'm a beginner and don have any PHP or ASP knowledge.....
so any helpful senior can tell me which language better and why?

I don't know ASP, just PHP, but I've heard that PHP is a lot easier and it can do the same amount of stuff as ASP or more.

PHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PHP is a lot eaiser to use, and you can get updates frequently, and it's easy to use, and it's open source so 10000000000's of people are working on ways to figure out how to make it better, unlike asp.

Yep, PHP is the way to go. There is way more support for PHP and it's much easier to learn.

PHP is Free...

ASP is by Microsoft...

ASP works in conjuction with Windows, and IIS...

PHP can work with all.

I think they are both the same... Except PHP is the way for a home base guy, trying to learn server side web programming to go, because you can Install Apache, Mysql and PHP on your comp and go to town...
