IDE for short, is basically an interface (GUI) for making programming easier, rather than writing all your code in notepad and compile with c++ compiler, others choose to use a visual IDE to make windows programs.

-pascal compiler
used to compile the programs written in pascal programming language into a binary .exe file.
Delphi is based on Pascal, Pascal is also a very good language to begin with.

I know Borland has a Delphi trial version

and you can also get the Delphi personal edition for like 99$ on cd, thats what i have.

there might be free pascal compilers on the net, but pascal is not a RAD programming language like Delphi and VB..
