Just curious to see what websites would be great starting points for users new into Java. Any tips or anything would be greatly appreciated as well!

Btw I have a few sites like Programming Basics and Google and have a book coming in soon.
 

Not sure about most of those but I would definitely steer clear of roseindia and probably javabeginner.com.

OP: the problem with online resources is always going to be the low entry requirements; anyone with a credit card can make a website. The further problem with sites for beginners is that they are often written by people who, basically, are beginners. If you have bought a reputable book then that is a great start, the other thing I would recommend is getting some sort of source control and keeping everything you write in there.
