Default Java or PHP

Hi all.. I was working as tester and now I am thinking to learn programming. I would like to know which programming language is easy to learn, PHP or Java? Please reply me

If you are a tester, I would suggest you to learn Python, it will be easier to you to get started and you can use it for Automation Testing. also, Python becomes very popular these days, and it is a really nice programming language.

If you want to deal with websites, you need to know both + some more, like jQuery, HTML etc.

Java would be a good start I think as it crosses desktop, mobile and web development in different shapes and forms. PHP is more web based but also a useful one to know for backend web development.
