how do you use this module so as to allow me to control the volume ??

I need to know how to get the amount of mixer lines using this module so that I can make the slider controls max value = to it, normally a sound card has 65535 of them, I tried manually setting that but that didnt work. Also how to mute the selected control.
If someone could go there and just do an example of using the wave out with a mute checkbox and a slider control then I can figure out the rest.
