C compiler and IDE for Linux

I'd like to ask what is a good C development IDE and C compiler for Linux. I could Google this, but would rather hear from experienced users here at Tech-Forums. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Do you mean like since I am using Ubuntu, that there may be a specific one for it ?

Yes, I think so. Some work better in KDE, some in Gnome.

When I used Ubuntu I had Geany (right now I am kind of messing with KDE4). It was just simple compiler, very lightweight.

But there are others IDEs for Gnome, I think. Well, you still can install IDEs for KDE too, I think.

I have heard of gcc, that is built into Ubuntu, correct ?

you can use this Free C and C++ compiler and IDE that Dev C++ supports OS's like
32-bit MS Windows (95/98), 32-bit MS Windows (NT/2000/XP), All 32-bit MS Windows (95/98/NT/2000/XP), All POSIX (Linux/BSD/UNIX-like OSes), Linux, Win2K, WinXP
