Any suggestions on a good language to start ai programming with a normal pc? assembly or c++? or whatever else yall might be thinking of...

Assembly?! Are you nuts!
C++, Java, .NET (VB or C# or any of the .NET Languages), or possibly C, would all be good choices.
A good site to check for AI programming tutorials is www.gamedev.net

how about LISP or CLISP, prolog i think its good for basic AI programming ... at my AI class in campus its used by the lecture.

I've never used LISP or CLISP so I can't say.
