Ever since I updated to the latest Nvidia 295.73 I've been having problems keeping GPU3 running. It would get up to around 15% and then stop. So I went back to 285.62 where GPU3 was working fine. It still does the same thing but actually finishes a couple WUs before it goes to sleep.

Here's a log:

Folding@Home will go to sleep for 1 day as there have been 5 consecutive Cores executed which failed to complete a work unit.
[21:45:31] (To wake it up early, quit the application and restart it.)

Not to good on v7, but you are having a common known problem..

Did you do a clean reinstall of 285.62? Somet6imes the driver leaves minor files and screws up things.

Also watch your temps, i guess the 803x units are very taxing.

Use this tutorial I wrote up to completely remove and reinstall the nVidia drivers. It always seems to do that trick for me. If you just installed the old drivers over the new, then it could easily still be using the aspects from the new drivers. Check in the Device Manager to see which driver it truly is using.

You need to adjust your tutorial a tad bit.
I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but windows vista/7 will install its own generic drivers for any nvidia cards or ATI cards detected.
You need to have windows update "STOPPED" from ruining or interrupting a clean install.
"windows update is very quick to put in its driver for the user to be workable" -road runner microsoft-

Also I do not agree with steps 5-7 fully, if that user only has one gpu and no onboard, if you uninstall it during windows, you take a risk of disabling your vga while in the os.
I rather see users either go through safe mode to do it, and take out the drivers.
Reboot back into safe mode, install the package like you said, once into windows fully let it finish off what it has to. :)
Been doing for a long time, and it stops crap from happening that you do not need later on during the week.

Other than that, everything else looks fine.

No I dont have to adjust it. I have done this for every driver update since I released the tutorial and after switching my video card from the 8800GTX to the GT260. Everytime just removing the driver, restarting and installing the new driver. Never having to stop Windows from installing their own driver.

That is 2 different video cards and well over 10 driver updates. Everytime same result. This is also using Windows 7 and Windows 8. So that part of the guide is just fine and tested not only on the current version of Windows but the next version as well. You dont have to let Windows update install the drivers that it detects. That part is on the user to start in the first place. So no Windows does not auto install the drivers, it will tell you that there is an update available but you have to start the install yourself.

If you dont agree, that is your opinion. My guide has helped how many people?

If you remove an onboard video driver or the driver for the one and only video device that you have installed, like I have done well over 10 times now and when I wrote up this guide; You will get a basic driver installed and 8 Bit graphics. More than enough to see what you are doing and clicking on to install the new drivers. So please before you "disagree" with something stated, try it out first and see the results first hand before guessing and being wrong on all accounts.

Dont try to tell me that cause I am an advanced user either. I do EXACTLY what my guide says, word for word. It works for me just as expected with only having my 1 video card installed and no onboard video. I can still get a video signal and still do everything I say. I wouldnt have wrote the guide this way if it didnt work. I personally TEST my tutorials before I write them and I dont critize someone elses work without testing out what they say either.

So you can tell someone that Safe Mode is your opinion that they should do. But I can tell you for a fact that it will work exactly how I have it written. Can you say the same? I didnt think so.

The guide is completely fine and personally tested and used the exact way it is written. I thank you for your time and inconsiderate approach to attacking my work without personally testing it. Next time at least do what the guide says first before you try and tell me that it is wrong. Have a nice day.

Alex, I am only trying to help you out, was not trolling, was not insulting you, nothing more than that.
Cant we atleast try to get along without all the ****ing bull **** already ?
We've been at this since the end of 08, do you remember that ? -_-
Weather you are MS professional or not or I am a technician or not, I will try to help out people even if some guides dont work with them and they can't grasp it right.

I can tell you've been in a good mood during this month, so I wont push it with you, I expect the same in return.
Take care.
