In my past folding ( and recent..just started a few minutes ago with CPU again ) I noticed my CPU folding does not seem to work properly.

So far it says 0/500 work done. And it stays this way forever :\ and it always has. It usually takes a day or two per unit. And this seems awfully slow for a core i7 CPU :|

So am I doing something wrong? I use the most current version..but it is the x86 version if that matters. All CPU monitoring programs are showing all cores spike up to about 25% usage every now n then. But I would expect it to go higher or just 1 core to stay at/around 100%.

What can I do to improve this? I looked at the high performance programs but they stress that it's high maintenance and I would prefer not to reset/change settings every 5 minutes just to run a program :\

Yha smp can be touchy, my smp runs flawless but its only a folder. Also has to be a console setup.

Gr, site really needs a code tag, post up the first part of your log.. An i7 should be speedy.

Are you running console, service or systray?

Hopefully i can help as it does seem weird.

You can type in code tags... [code ][/ code]. I use the BBCodeXtra extension for firefox for it, myself... as well as a whole bunch of other codes. ;)

okay that's the first bit...after that it downloads it , verifies, unzips, then starts working

Okay.. your probelm is itds not suppose to d/l a core everytime it runs... it should only d/l new cores..

This has been happening a bunch lately.

I'd reinstall the fah setup. try that report back.

also add to the log a few lines of work, as it shows the unit and speed.

that doesn't sound like it would help the fact that it's doing it extremely slow anyway..would it?

and it's doing about 5000(out of 500,000) steps per 30 minutes
