Well......I installed the regular VF900.
I have it set to 100% and I can't hear it No more gaming to the horrible wine of the stock fan
Temp comparison from playing Oblivion...
stock fan
Fan- 40%------not gaming----- 44-45c (can barely hear it)
Fan- 100% ----gaming-----------50-60c (loud annoying wine)
VF900
Fan- 100%---- -not gaming----- 40-41c (silent)
Fan- 100%------gaming-----------55-70c (silent)
The stock fan cools better with less fluctuation while gaming, But as long as the temps are not in the red(80c?) I'm much happier with the VF900
The VF900 comes with a fan speed controller. The connectors are the same as a regular fan, So it doesn't plug into the X1900XT.
Can I get rid of the speed controller, Splice the stock fan connector onto the VF900, Plug it into the X1900XT and use ATI tool, to control the fan speed?
Thanks
