Um...you have it mounted backwards. The fan should be facing the ram, because it blows the heat from the fins, to the back of the case, in which the rear exhaust will take out.

Oh...lol...sorry about that. Didn't catch the first sentence. For some reason, it looks like a CNPS9700, because of the darker orange color.

Thermal paste cures with use.

About 100-200 hours, of normal usage would cure it.

i know sorry i worded it wrong, im not just standing around waiting for it to cure, im running cpu burn in and playing BF2

i have one in a antec 900 case and it is pointed backwards like yours. i reversed the flow of the case so my smoking wont be pulled in by the front fans.
works very well. athlon +3500 stays at 25c cpu and system 26-27c at idle.
