Default x2 4800+ Overclocking opinion(s), please

Greetings,

I am considering purchasing the dual-core 4800+ to replace my dual-core 3800+

Does anyone have any experience with what this CPU can handle insofar as boosting the speed on air (Zalman CNPS9500)?

What kind of FPS improvements can I expect. I realize that this is a broad question, settings would be High and I use higher resolutions.

Also, What about the single-core FX-57? Would that be better than the dual-core 4800+ for gaming? I am not really a multi-tasker, just obsessive-compulsive about gaming....

Thanks.

I guess the FX-57 would run games better then the 4800+, because games are not designed for dual core....yet. But I think you should get dual core for the future.

Yeah, that's about normal. I, however, got lucky. My x2 4800+ is running constantly at JUST under 3.0gHZ with the Zalman CNPS9500.
