Default Would this work for dual graphics

I have XFX HD 5850 and i was wondering whether i could use the XFX HD 5870 with it would be compatible together.

If not i will just get another xfx HD 5850

Well it all depends on if your motherboard is crossfire capable. Its possible to run a faster 5000 with a slower 5000 but not probable. The 5870 would be slowed down to match the 5850 (for lack of better description) so the extra money spent would almost be pointless.

If they have changed this since ive used ATI cards please correct me.

Some cards support a "hybrid" mode, but, I don't think any of the 5xxx series would be capable of properly running different speed cards together.
