Default Wiring behind the mobo?

New user here, but not terribly new to computers or anything...

ANYWAY, Im building a new PC in a Thermaltake Xaser (sp?) case. Great case and all, but the things got 7 case fans... so I was wondering if it is safe to route wires behind my motherboard. The thing will be spaced a good cm or so, and I figure thatll be enough room for some wires back there.

So questions are:

-is this smart/safe?
-are there certain wires I should try to avoid doing this with?
-is there anything imparticular I should use to mount the wires to the back?
-is there something I should cover the wires in? Some kind of thermal wrap or a heatshrink or something?

Thanks in advance guys. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.

Well, after 24 hours and no response I fielded the Q myself. After a bit of googling I found what I needed.

For future reference: wiring directly behind the mobo is not a great idea. The best way is in a case ith either a removable mobo tray or a right panel that removes and allows access to the area the mobo is mounted on. You can then route the wires behind that (with a little doing), and yield very professional looking results.

Thanks for taking a gander anyways, to all those that did.

For future searches:
cable management, under motherboard, underneath motherboard, behind motherboard, hiding wires, good airflow
