Remember that ATI overclocking tourny? And remember that dude that came in and claimed that he overclocked his P4 3.4 EE all the way to 7 GhZ, showed us proof, pics, and his huge stock cooling system.

DId he every win, and what happened to him?

he didn't 'claim' to, he actually did lol. No world records were broken at that competition, but there should be plenty of news of it at www.xtremesystems.org just look in the 'News' section of course. The guys name was Fugger by the way

lol yeah it was real dude. He's using like liquid nitrogen direct die CPU cooling and/or triple cascade phase change units that he built himself, it's no small setup
