Why cant i enter BIOS?

When i startup my system it does not let me enter bios, i hold down delete, and nothing, it just starts like usual
i have a gateway system, does this have something to do with it"??

or does it have something to do with my version of windows, i have xp home, do i need pro???

try F1 or TAB, but probably F1.

most likely f1....it could be that your monitor has not warmed up yet and you couldnt see the boot up screen. try pressing f1 or del every couple seconds instead.

if a logo is appearing on startup hit escape to see what is behind in order see what key needs to be hit.....F2 is also used to enter bios.
