Arctic silver 5 is just reputed to be the best brand, and in most tests produces the best results. There are many other ones that are fine but generally AS5 is the best, I have some OCZ silver thermal compound that seems to work fairly well, I'm not sure how it measures up with AS5. In general though theres no reason not to get AS5, I mean its like what 5 $ difference so you might as well go all the way rather than buy a wicked cpu and cheap out on thermal compound.

The OCZ Ultra 5 thermal compound is a couple bucks cheaper. It's also the SAME THING. The have the exact same silver ingredient mixture and work just as effectively. I wouldn't buy AS5 just because they charge so much for it.
