Default water cooling

what is the best water cooling setup for under $250, and it must cool both the cpu and the gpu

hmmmm well you should aways choose custom parts. i'll start you off. would help if we kinew which cpu and gpu you are using.

Swiftech Storm 4/5 CPU Block
Maze 4 GPU Block
A twin or triple 120mm radiator

now the pump is a tricky one. some say you should get a specialised "watercooling" pump. if you go that way then one from Swiftech would be best. all the pros i know use Eheim aquarium pumps though. the difference is the aquarium pumps are AC and the specialised ones DC.

Im using an intel core 2 duo conroe cpu and a x900xt gpu

ok i'm pretty sure the Storm waterblock has LGA775 mounting plates that will suit Core 2. you can look up the GPU block.

as im reading this i see there is an add for some sort of water cooling right near the bottom. Thats pretty funny.

it's no coincidence. the advertisements are not random, they use a text based filter so that they pertain to something mentioned in a thread. that way there is a greater chance someone in the thread will be interested seeing as they are already "talking" about it.
