right now i have a dell dimension 8200. the ram it supports is RDRAM so i want to change the mobo so i can use ddr.

How would i mod the case to get the mobo to fit correctly?

also, can i safely mod the DELL PSU for it to work too?

i agree with macdud, the amount of time spent working on the case you could've easily saved up enough for a nice new case, and a psu.

and you will need a new OS. the dell ones only work and the mobo and cpu they come with.

At teh 'egg you can get mid atx cases for as low as 30 shipped.

30 for case, 40 for motherboard=70 shipped.

A new case is definitely the way to go, modding a dell case just to put a new mobo and new RAM in it seems a bit much, i'd just buy a new case and mobo from newegg or tigerdirect. While your at it you could get a new CPU too if ya have the money as i've only seen Dell's with intel chips, you should splurge, if you have the money, on a decent CPU by AMD, just get a new computer if you want it to be faster.
